The Department of Tourism Development in Ajman launched, during its participation in the Arab Travel Market 2021 exhibition yesterday, the central “self-classification system” for classification and evaluation, which will be launched early next July. It is a unique integrated digital system that allows hotels and hotel rooms to self-classify their units according to the new classification criteria set by them. The Department of Tourism Development in Ajman, the department also revealed the establishment of the “Ajman Cultural Office”, which is concerned with developing the cultural and artistic product, developing talents and promoting the tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
For his part, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises, accompanied by Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al-Marri, Director General of the General Administration of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, visited the Ajman Tourism Pavilion on the sidelines of the Arab Travel Market exhibition, where he was briefed on the goals of the Ajman 2021 Vision and the axes and plans that You will contribute to achieving this vision.
His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, from those in charge of the pavilion, listened to the most prominent tourism activities undertaken by the emirate to reinforce its position as a tourist destination that attracts visitors and tourists from all over the world, and the role of the department in highlighting the cultural and tourism components that the emirate of Ajman possesses, and the experiences it offers to its visitors. A unique tourist destination that also showcases the heritage and traditions of the emirate.
The self-rating system “central for classification and evaluation” defines corporate social responsibility for controlling and interacting with projects, integrating environmental, sustainability and identification standards and means of identification, in addition to the features of measuring and integrating all customer opinions, and presenting accurate details about the status of each tourism project in terms of maintenance, cleanliness and design. The system is a platform based on accurate reports and data that provides a true diagnosis of project performance according to its classification category, whether it is alone or in general in the Emirate of Ajman.
The first phase of launching the system includes hotels and hotel rooms, with plans and programs to add other sectors in the future.
The department also revealed the establishment of the “Ajman Cultural Office” which is concerned with developing the cultural and artistic product, developing talents, promoting tangible and intangible cultural heritage, such as literature, audiovisual arts, design and digital creativity, and setting policies, regulations and laws for the culture sector to contribute to enhancing its effectiveness in the emirate, in addition to Building frameworks for cooperation with all concerned authorities in the country and abroad to support the sustainable development of the culture sector in cooperation with the private sector.
The “Ajman Cultural Office” aims to develop and implement projects, initiatives and plans that contribute to the advancement and enhancement of Ajman’s position, and to promote the emirate as a leading cultural tourism destination, through cultural, artistic, heritage and historical events.
The office also seeks to define the vision and the necessary initiatives to promote Emirati values, preserve cultural heritage and heritage, and support Emirati talents and creative industries in the emirate.
Ajman museums development
The Department of Tourism Development in Ajman announced the development of a number of major museums in the emirate, including the Ajman Museum, Masfoot Museum, and Manama Museum, as the emirate’s museums are considered one of the most important tourist destinations in the country, and tourists and visitors from home and abroad from all over the world flock to them.
The emirate of Ajman has become an attractive tourism environment thanks to the paradigm shift in infrastructure projects supporting the tourism sector over the past few years, especially in the archaeological areas that have provided the sector with a large proportion of tourists, as well as projects to develop facilities, beaches, and picnic and entertainment sites.
Saleh Muhammad Al-Jaziri, Director General of the Department of Tourism Development in Ajman emphasized continuing to develop projects and put forward development initiatives that serve the tourism sector in the emirate to ensure the achievement of what Ajman aspires to increase the percentage of tourism flows to it in order to achieve the vision of the tourism emirate, while the department continues to work closely with all International institutions and companies operating in the tourism industry, as well as participating in many major international events related to tourism, such as the Berlin Fair and the London Fair, and cooperating with international representative offices to directly access global markets; In addition to the representative offices located in Britain and Russia, we look forward to studying the possibility of expanding this representation to include other markets that source tourists.
Al-Jaziri added that launching new tourism projects and developing museums will strengthen Ajman’s position on the tourism map as a leading tourist destination for everyone from inside and outside the UAE, and confirms its cultural, tourism and even investment status.
