London – Reuters
Spotify CEO and founder Daniel Eck said that an offer he made to buy Arsenal, rival in the Premier League, was rejected by the club’s owner Stan Cronke’s family.
He used Ick, Twitter to issue a statement correcting “incorrect reports” about the non-bid.
“This week an offer was made to Josh Kronke and their bankers, and it included a share of the fans in ownership of the club and representation on the board of directors,” Al Suwaidi Ek said.
Ick said last month he had raised the necessary funds to buy Arsenal, which is estimated to be worth $ 2.8 billion, according to Forbes.
British media reported that three of Arsenal’s greats, Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Vieira, support the Eck offer.
The club’s owners are under fire from the fans after the north London club tried to join the separatist European Super League, which collapsed 48 hours after it was announced.
