The Nigerian strikers carried out the mission when KRC Genk defeated Vincent Kompany’s Anderlecht 2-1 in the qualifiers in the Belgian Jupiler League on Saturday.
Hot striker Paul Onwacho opened the scoring for KRC Genk in the 16th minute, and scored his 35th goal for the club this season as he continued his amazing scoring record. Anderlecht turned to Lucas Nmecha, on loan from Manchester City, aged 22, who was born in Germany to a Nigerian father who drew them in the 31st minute. Onwacho was sacked by Genk’s coach and replaced by Super Eagles striker Cyril Koulauli Desire in the 76th minute. The striker scored The Belgian-born scored the winning goal in the 86th minute to score his fifth goal of the season as Genk won 2-1.
The KRC Genk win puts them just two points behind the leaders, Club Brugge, as they aim to win the Belgian Jupiler League.
