Hammers is in the market for an attacking midfielder and has targeted Chamberlain as a substitute for Jesse Lingard on loan from Manchester United, who has drawn interest across Europe after his impressive loan spell at West Ham.
The likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Tottenham are watching his situation. It will be difficult for Hammers to bring Lingard if he misses the Europa League next season, which is a low probability in the final week of the match.
Chamberlain had only 277 minutes of matches throughout the season for Liverpool to make matters worse, as he was left out of Liverpool’s squad for the last two matches in the Premier League.
He has managed only 15 applications in all balls this season and has been unable to get any decent performance in the first team despite midfielders Keita, Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago for long periods of time due to regular injuries.
He made 102 appearances over four seasons at Liverpool, during which he scored 13 goals and 11 assists. The former Arsenal midfielder joined Merseyside from North London in the summer of 2017 in a reported £ 40m deal and since then has been mostly a warm-up player and has been plagued with injuries during his tenure at the club.
His first season at Anfield was the most productive, scoring five goals and providing seven assists in all competitions that season. The great blow against Manchester City in the Champions League was one of the highlights of that year. It was super cool that season. But he has lost popularity since that campaign and is only a junior player with the Reds.
West Ham and Newcastle believe they can reinvigorate Southampton’s previous academy product career somewhat similarly to Lingard and Willock, who endured very impressive loan spells at West Ham and Tyneside respectively.
Chamberlain is a fast, dynamic midfielder with excellent ball control and decision-making. It is more than just an innovative rather than a traditional suite. He can play in a variety of midfield and forward positions.
He is well-known for his rugby live running style, he dribbles in a linear, upright, and distended manner that makes him appear taller than the original 5 feet 9 and enables him to compete in aerial challenges.
He’s a straightforward dribbler, good at spinning, creating spaces for himself, and a decent ball bearer. He’s also very adept at picking up long-range shots from a distance. Chamberlain is creative with his short passing and good at team play.
Klopp’s nickname “Taurus”, he’s also very hardworking, the kind of player who has a knack for pressing. His skill set is better suited to Type 8 from box to box in a slightly more offensive role.
West Ham favorite to sign Oxlade Chamberlain:
There is an element of risk in his injury-plagued career of the past. Its attributes are ideal for counterattacking teams like West Ham and Newcastle, and it could be a good deal for £ 17m.
The Reds are ready to listen to his offers and want to recover some of the money invested in him because he has only two years left on his current deal, which expires in June 2023, according to Transfer Market. His high salary could be a stumbling block in any transportation deal. A one-year loan deal with an option to buy at a fixed rate can still be considered by Hammers.
It’s vitally important that Chamberlain gets regular minutes under his belt to energize his waning career. With Liverpool Signing Diogo Jota restricted his time on the field, so it’s fair to say he needs to move from Merseyside.
Returning to London at Hammers would be wonderful for him. Do let me know in the comments below whether or not this step makes sense to you.
