Anna Kendrick’s search for love takes an unexpected turn. The “Love Life” star and exec producer books a date with a serial killer for her next project. The Oscar-nominated actress will star in “Rodney & Sheryl,” the true story of a woman who chooses a killer on ABC’s game show “The Dating Game.” Netflix has got the drama. Directed by Chloe Okono, the picture will revisit how Rodney Alcala competed and won a date with contestant Sherrill Bradshaw (Kendrick) in the “dating game”. Alcala “was in the midst of a killing spree in 1978 when he brazenly participated in the show,” source details. “At the time, Alcala killed five women and was convicted of attempting to murder a 12-year-old girl, but he appeared on the show because the background checks were more lenient. That left Bradshaw in a position where she was supposed to go on a date with Alcala, only to find “It was postponed because of his strange atmosphere. In 1980, he was sentenced to death for the murder and investigators found evidence – hundreds of pictures of women, girls and boys, and memorabilia that the police believed to be victims – in a storage locker.”
