The outbreak of the new Corona virus in an African country has resulted in the death of 32 parliamentarians.
The Deputy Speaker of Parliament in the Democratic Republic of Congo said that the deputies have died from Covid-19 disease since the start of the pandemic.
This number represents about five percent of all MPs.
Although Congo announced relatively low numbers of infections and deaths from the Corona virus, the disease has swept the corridors of power and claimed the lives of prominent parliamentarians and prominent politicians.
“According to the latest statement issued by the government, the number of confirmed injuries reached 31,248, while the deaths reached 780, including 32 members of parliament,” said Jean-Marc Cabond, first deputy in parliament.
Although the use of masks is mandatory in Parliament, some members sometimes ignore it when they gather.
