Nasser Al-Helaifi, president of Paris Saint-Germain, responded to rumors about the future of Kilian Mbappé by stating that the French striker will remain at his club for next season.
Mbappe, who has scored 42 goals in all competitions for Saint-Germain this season, will run until June 2022 but has been linked to his transfer to Real Madrid.
“I’ll be clear. Mbappe will stay in Paris and we will never sell him and he will never leave us for free. Mbappe has everything he needs in Paris, ”Al-Helaifi told L’Equipe.
“Where can he go? Which club can compete with PSG in terms of ambition today? All I can say is that everything is in order and I hope to reach an agreement (on the extension of the contract), ”he added.
“This is Paris, this is his country, and he has a mission related not only to football, but also to the promotion of the first French division, his country and its capital,” added the Qatari official.
Saint-Germain ended the season with one major title, the French Cup, losing the league to Lille by one point and also leaving the Champions League semi-finals.
