London: English fast bowler Ollie Robinson has been barred from “all international cricket” after historical racist and sexist tweets were revealed earlier this week when he made his debut in a test match against New Zealand, the country’s cricket council said Sunday (ECB).

The 27-year-old Robinson was England’s top bowler with seven wickets in the match. On Wednesday, he released a statement in which he apologized for his “frivolous and irresponsible” tweets.

“Bowler of England and Sussex, Ollie Robinson, was barred from all international cricket competitions pending the results of a disciplinary investigation following the historic tweets he posted in 2012 and 2013,” the ECB said in a statement.

“He will not be eligible for the second test against New Zealand starting in Edgbaston on Thursday 10 June. Robinson will immediately leave the England camp and return to his county. “
