In April, an Israeli court ordered the eviction of eight Palestinian families from their homes in the Sheikh Jarrah area in favor of settlement groups, sparking tensions in the Palestinian territories.

However, Israeli authorities postponed a final decision on the eviction order until December due to massive Palestinian protests, including 11 days of fighting between Israel and Palestinian resistance groups in Gaza and international pressure.
