Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow Television Calls for the Avengers

Scarlett Johansson’s all-new TV series Black Widow summons the Avengers.

After a one-year delay due to the pandemic, Marvel Studios is gearing up to release its new film. Black Widow. The film finally takes Natasha Romanoff from Scarlett Johansson into her own standalone film, and also explores her mysterious past as she embarks on a new mission, introducing key figures from her past before she joined the Avengers.

The new TV commercial features newcomers Elena Belova (Florence Pugh) and Alexei Shostakov / Red Guardian (David Harbor). In another joke that is a hallmark of the style of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Alexei jokes during their mission that they were supposed to attract the Avengers, which results in Elena playfully hitting him. The action of the film takes place after the events Captain America: Civil War and with the Avengers disbanded, the pain after this movie is still fresh for Natasha.

In Marvel Studios’ action-packed spy thriller Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, is faced with darker parts of her ledger as a dangerous conspiracy tied to her past emerges. Haunted by a force that will stop at nothing to crush her, Natasha must deal with her spy story and the broken relationship left behind long before she became an Avenger.

Director Keith Shortland and a screenplay by Eric Pearson, based on a short story by Yak Schaeffer and Ned Benson, starred in the Marvel films Scarlett Johansson, David Harbor, Florence Pugh, O.T. Fugbenle, Ray Winston, Olivier Richters and Rachel Weisz.
