India head coach Igor Srimak believes Bangladesh is a very annoying football team that worries its opponents with its defensive work. The Blue Tigers are set to take on their arch rivals in the World Cup qualifiers this Monday night at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha.
The head coach of the Indian national team Igor Stimak, on the eve of the Blue Tigers’ match against Bangladesh, described the opponents as “a team with great fighting spirit” that “works well” on the field.
Stimak spoke at the official pre-match press conference for India vs. Bangladesh in Soccer World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup The qualifying round of the China 2023 Joint Preliminary Round is scheduled for tomorrow (Monday, June 7) at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha.
“In the football world, I would say that this is a very annoying team that prevents the opponent from working on the defensive, the quality work – with the blocks – is very similar to what we did against Qatar,” Stimak said.
“In football, sometimes you have to do everything possible to piss off your opponents, piss them off, cut their passes. Bangladesh is fighting for every point in the group, and whatever they do, they do it as a team, ”said the head coach.
The start will take place at 19:30 (local time in Doha), the match will be broadcast live on Star Sports Network and Disney + Hotstar.
“The match against Qatar was not easy. But we showed a certain character and arrogance in 90 minutes with the champions of Asia. We aim to be successful in the second game. We will do our best with our desire, commitment and try to make everyone proud, ”said Jingan.
Stimak added: “The match against Bangladesh is a great game for our fans and team. We are going to approach the game to win without showing disrespect to our opponents. Our goal from the very beginning has remained unchanged – to qualify for the AFC Asian Cup China 2023 ”.
The last time the two teams met at YBK in Kolkata was in October 2019, the match ended 1-1.
“We will try to show some composure, different from what was in the Qatar or Oman match. It depends on us if we can better play the match in terms of ball possession, ball movement, passing speed and accuracy and possible execution, ”said Stimak.
Sandesh, who was awarded the Arjuna Prize last season, stressed that football is often full of surprises.
“In football, you can be surprised and get a bad result any day. The main job is preparation – both physical and moral, ”he explained. “As players, we must stick to the game plan and demonstrate the right desire and commitment that the thug wants and expects from us,” he added.
“The matches against Qatar and Bangladesh are so different – from one extreme to the other. In the first game, we played with the best team in Asia, which was so excellent and trained every day compared to having only eight days of training before the start of the competition. In fact, without the help of the Qatar FA and the Qatari government, we would not even begin our training, ”Stimak said.
“Bangladesh was also in the same situation as us in terms of preparation. But they have the advantage that their players are much better prepared for the competition as their season ended in the second week of May, compared to the fact that most of our players have not played competitive football since February. ”
