MANILA, Philippines – US NBA defender Jordan Clarkson helped rebuild a Filipino food van in Utah that was vandalized and racially motivated.

In a tweet, Clarkson, whose mother is Filipino, also called for an end to Asian hatred, as anti-Asian phrases were painted on the sides of the said food van.

“I was deeply hurt to see that @yumyumasian food van in Salt Lake City was recently vandalized,” Clarkson tweeted. “I know the pain that hate speech and racism cause. With the help of @identitygraphx, we can rebuild the truck and hopefully get Ben up. [Pierce] and the spirit of his family! #StopAsianHate “.

Daniel Workman, a neighbor of the truck’s family, and his company Identity Graphx will install a new film on the vehicle.

Clarkson initially offered to pay to install the new design, but Workman turned down the offer, but told ABC 4 that the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year would continue to support Yum Yum owners.
