Thomas Tuchel appoints Hakim Ziyech for transfers after one unsuccessful year at the club

Last season, the 28-year-old moved to Chelsea from Ajax for 40 million euros.

Ziyech ended up playing time with Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The midfielder failed to impress with a squad that finished in the Premier League’s top four and won the Champions League.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, there are rumors that the relationship between Ziyech and the manager is “severed.”

What happened to Ziyech?

Ziyech moved to Chelsea due to a minor injury and was never able to secure his place in the starting team.

The Moroccan has been productive for Ajax but has failed to find the same form for the Blues, scoring only two goals and three assists in the league.

This, coupled with his defensive performance, did not make him a fan favorite.

After coach Frank Lampard was replaced by Tuchel mid-season, the midfielder played even less.

During the season, Ziyech rarely played a full 90 minutes, making only 15 starts.

Where could Ziyech go?

Ziyech was instrumental in Ajax’s recent successes in Europe, including reaching the Champions League semi-finals.

The creative midfielder is at the peak of his career, and for a reasonable price of 40 million euros, he could be bought by most of the major clubs in Europe.

He remains a relative risk as he only spent one season outside Eredivisie.

Without fear of injury, a return to Ajax or a move to Serie A could be on the agenda.

Both Milan and Napoli have previously shown interest in the player and may be willing to spend money on him this summer.

Romelu Lukaku and Chris Smalling have previously played in Serie A, the Moroccan may be next.
