Security forces arrived at the scene shortly after the incident on Thursday morning.

A 16-seat plane crashed between a power plant and a steel mill at Pyin O Lwin in the Mandalay area.

A local resident said eight more people were injured.

Local media have not yet confirmed the death, although it was initially reported that high-ranking military personnel were among the dead. Salvation is currently ongoing.
