US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken told Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi on Wednesday that America cannot continue to publicly support its campaign of bombing Gaza. Axios reported.
Calling for an early end to the attack, Blinken said the US could not continue to oppose French efforts in the UN Security Council to negotiate a resolution calling for a ceasefire.
In his response, Ashkenazi said Israel still has military objectives that it wants to achieve in Gaza before it can end its offensive.
Blinken tweeted yesterday: “I spoke to @IsraelMFA @Gabi_Ashkenazi about efforts to end the violence in Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, which has claimed the lives of Israeli and Palestinian civilians, including children. The US expects to see a de-escalation on the path to a ceasefire. “

More than 130 Democratic members of the US House of Representatives signed a letter in which they called on Biden to “promote an immediate end to the violence.”
“Too many people have already died. Even more will perish unnecessarily if America does not act with the promptness required by this violence, ”the letter says.
While members of Congress called on the United States stop selling weapons Israel as a result of its attack on Gaza.
About 230 Palestinians were killed in 11 days of bombing by Israel. Another 1,700 people were injured. Twelve Israelis were also killed.
A ceasefire was announced yesterday and took effect at midnight.
