Tomorrow, Friday, the 32nd Summer Olympics will start in the Japanese capital Tokyo, from July 23 to August 8, with the participation of more than 11,000 athletes, participating in 33 sports, with 339 competitions, in 48 sports facilities. at 7pm Japan time, at 2pm UAE time, at the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo, which also witnessed the 1964 Olympics.
The opening ceremony will be attended by HE Shehab Ahmed Al Fahim, UAE Ambassador to Japan, and Engineer Azza bint Sulaiman, Deputy Secretary General for Administrative and Financial Affairs of the National Olympic Committee.
The UAE is participating in the Olympics for the tenth time, after our first participation in the Los Angeles Olympics, as our delegation in Tokyo represents 17 athletes, including 5 players in 4 sports, namely shooting, swimming, athletics and judo , where Saif bin Fattis will open our participation in the event with a competition Skeet shooting July 25 and 26, Viktor Skritov, who will compete under 73 kg judo on July 26, and Youssef Al Matrooshi, our swimmer, will participate in the next day 100-meter freestyle, while Ivan Romanenko will participate in a competition weighing more than 100 kg in judo on July 30, before the runner Mohamed Hassan Al-Nubi ends our participation in the 100-meter race on July 31.

Engineer Azza bint Suleiman arrived in Tokyo and was received by Dr. Kamal Al Yamahi, Head of the Support Services Department, at the UAE Embassy in Tokyo, Ahmed Al Tayeb, Director of the Delegation, and runner Mohamed Hassan Al Noubi and his coach, Bacal.
The organizing committee for the session allocated specific areas in the Olympic Village to countries classified as “high risk” by the World Health Organization until the end of the approved and recommended period for sanitary isolation, i.e. 3 days from the date of arrival in Japan.
During the Tokyo Olympics, our delegation made field visits to the Olympic Village clinical clinics, physiotherapy and injury rooms, where they were briefed on the medical devices used, the various equipment and first aid available in the village. visited the training halls and the shooting range.
