Al-Nasr Saudi Club announced yesterday, Thursday, his contract with Argentine defender Ramiro Funes Mori, of Spanish club Villarreal, after two years, with an option to extend.
Al-Nasr said on his Twitter account: “Al-Nasr’s club management has officially signed with Argentine star Ramiro Funes Mori. This is after purchasing his contract from Spanish club Yarreal. The player signed a two-year contract with preference for extension. We wish him the best of luck…”.
The 30-year-old joined Uzbek Jalaluddin Masharipov, Brazilian Andison Talisca and Cameroonian Abu Bakr Vincent, who were previously signed to support the winning ranks for the new season.
Funes Morey started his career with Argentina’s River Plate, moving to Portugal’s Benfica in 2014 and a year later joining Everton, England, staying with him for three seasons before moving to Villarreal in 2018.
During his career, Funes Morey won the 2014 Argentine League, the 2015 Copa Libertadores, the 2014 Sudamericana Cup and the Recopa Sudamericana parallel to the 2015 European Super Cup with River Plate, and the 2021 European League with Villarreal.
Funes played 48 games with Villarreal, 42 of which were first games, scoring two goals and scoring one.
