This morning there were reports that CM Punk might be en route to AEW. Now, a new report suggests that former WWE champion Daniel Bryan has already signed to Tony Khan’s promotion.

According to Bodyslam.net’s Cassidy Haynes, Daniel Bryan (formally known as “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson) has been “locked up” and has signed a contract with AEW. With preliminary plans for his coming to the company.

If this report proves true, it will be a huge asset to AEW as Daniel Bryan is one of the most recognizable stars in professional wrestling today.

Details on Daniel Bryan’s AEW contract revealed

Haynes reports that Daniel Bryan had requests for his AEW contract that were awarded, including the opportunity to work in Japan, work fewer dates for comparable money, and want creative input on how his character is portrayed on AEW TV.

All these requests sound relatively reasonable for a superstar of Daniel Bryan’s quality, and it’s no surprise that AEW owner Tony Khan agrees.

When Bryan will make his AEW debut is unknown at this time. But it will most likely happen sometime in the coming months. The shows in Chicago and New York City are prime candidates for his AEW arrival.

Bryan’s theme outside of WWE was “The Final Countdown” of Europe. With Khan already proving that he has no problem licensing theme music for his roster, you could be hearing the theme music playing on TNT sooner rather than later.
