Gulf Air said it was in the process of reconnecting all passengers to their final destinations.

The tail of a Gulf Air plane was hit by a flydubai plane at Dubai International Airport (DXB) on Thursday morning, Khaleej Times can reveal.

Dubai Airports confirmed the incident in a statement to: Khaleej Times.

“Dubai Airports can confirm that an incident occurred at DXB this morning, Thursday, July 22, involving two passenger aircraft. As a result, one runway was temporarily closed in order to quickly manage the minor incident. Operations at DXB were unaffected and the runway reopened after two hours,” said Dubai Airports.

There were no reports of injuries.

Bahrain’s flag carrier, Gulf Air, said a “ground incident” at DXB occurred when one of its planes was struck in the tail by another airline’s plane.

It said it was in the process of reconnecting all passengers to their final destinations.

Flydubai said its flight FZ 1461 from DXB to Bishkek International Airport (FRU) returned to normal on July 22 due to a “minor incident” involving one of its Next-Generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft and another aircraft on the taxiway. .

“Passengers were accommodated on a later flight, which has departed. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by our passengers’ travel plans. Flydubai will work with authorities to investigate the incident,” it said.
