Hilaria Baldwin recently took to Instagram to hit back at trolls who judged her children by the color of their skin, allegedly claiming that Baldwin was not their mother. The fitness instructor shared a photo of her youngest daughter, Maria Lucia, on her Instagram story, calling out to the haters:

“I know… I know, sleuths… my skin is darker and my children’s is lighter. Yes, they are mine. I try to keep up with all these ideas… I must say you have quite a bit of time to spare.”

The latest drama comes months after Hilaria Baldwin’s controversy surrounding her heritage. Last year, the 37-year-old was charged with alleged cultural appropriation after a Twitter user created a thread claiming that Baldwin had “falsified” her Hispanic ancestry.

Social media users pointed out that Hilaria Baldwin was born Hillary Lynn Hayward-Thomas and explored her accent further. They also stated that the fitness trainer was born in Boston, Massachusetts rather than Mallorca, Spain, as stated on her agency’s official website.

In response, Hilaria Baldwin shared a lengthy Instagram post explaining that she grew up with both American and Hispanic cultures. She spoke of the sense of a “real sense of belonging” to both the countries and their respective cultures.

Following the controversy, the mother of six welcomed her youngest child with husband Alec Baldwin, via surrogacy in March 2021. Maria Lucia was born six months after Hilaria Baldwin gave birth to her fifth child, Eduardo Baldwin.
