Passengers with a tourist visa are now allowed to travel to Dubai.
Visitor visas and entry permit holders from countries where travel to the UAE is restricted can fly to Dubai, Emirates Airline’s customer service account reported on Twitter. This came as Emirates Support responded to multiple questions on Twitter.
Hi, probably at the time of your contact with our local office we have not received the official update. We just did that. All passengers with a short-stay/long-stay visa, a visiting visa or a visa on arrival can now travel to Dubai. Soon we will post the details on our website.

“Admission ticket holders can now travel to Dubai from Pakistan. You don’t need GDRFA approval,” the tweet read.
“According to the current updates, passengers traveling on a newly issued Visitor Visa will be able to enter Dubai without any approval from the GDRFA or ICA. You must ensure that you meet all travel requirements for your country of arrival, departure and transit,” it said in another.
Yet another response was: “Passengers with a tourist visa are now allowed to travel to Dubai. They must provide a negative PCR certificate for a test performed within 48 hours and a Rapid PCR test performed within 6 hours prior to departure.”
The Emirates website will be updated “soon”, the customer service handle added.
The UAE authorities announced on Saturday that the country would resume issuing tourist visas. The tourist visa application is open to people from all countries from today, August 30.
Aviation sources had previously confirmed to Khaleej Times that holders of all types of visas and/or entry permits issued by authorities in the UAE can fly to Dubai. The approved visa categories are: work, short or extended stay, visit and newly issued residence visa.
