The business relationship between the US and Australia is a “very busy two-way street,” said April Palmerlee, the CEO of the US Chamber of Commerce in Australia.
With a trade and investment relationship worth nearly $2 trillion, Mr. Palmerlee said the relationship is “very, very important to both countries”.
“Australia is way above its weight, with the US investing over a trillion dollars here in Australia.
Ms Palmerlee told Sky News Australia that US business growth in Australia boomed after World War II, “because of Australia-US cooperation”.
“That was really the beginning of a very fruitful relationship, economically.”
