Willian has officially terminated his contract with Arsenal.
The Gunners have saved £20million thanks to Willian’s decision.
The Brazilian, 33, is expected to return to his home country with Corinthians.
In a statement, the Gunners said: “We have reached a mutual agreement with Willian to terminate his contract effective today.
“The Brazil international joined us from Chelsea last August and made 38 appearances in the 2020/21 season.
“He still had two years left on his contract, but after positive and constructive recent talks with him and his team, he is leaving for a new opportunity at Corinthians in Brazil, where he started his career.
“Everyone at Arsenal wishes Willian and his family all the best for the future.”
