August 30 Apex Legends patch fixes a bug that allowed players to jump while being knocked down

The final season of Apex Legends was incredibly successful for Electronic Arts. With Call of Duty Warzone professionals moving over to EA’s Battle Royale, the buzz around Apex Legends has never been louder. This doesn’t mean the game is perfect, though, as Apex Legends’ newest playable character, “Seer”, was gloriously broken when it was released. After an August 23 patch that nerfed Seer, developer Respawn Entertainment promised two follow-up patches that have now arrived.

Apex Legends Emergence August 30 Patch Notes

The issues addressed by the latest patch are the removal of the “knock-jump” bug and the incorrect store listing for Bangalore Edition. While this patch is small, it’s absolutely crucial to a competitive battle royale where bugs like this can change a game’s outcome.

The full patch notes for update 1.78 are as follows:

  • Longer latency between sensor peaks for full HP targets (1.25s to 1.75s)
  • Removed ellipses in the middle circle
  • Limited range over 75 m (blue spikes)
  • Decreased field of view


  • Increased detonation delay from 1.4 s to 1.6 s
  • The hit players are no longer damaged or flashed. Screen shaking from being hit is also reduced
  • Added movement slowly while holding tactical
  • Reduced volume on audio
  • Fixed an issue where tactical effects were visible in firing range when not intended


  • Increase cooldown from 90s to 120s
  • Reduced volume on audio


  • Fixed several bugs related to Ziener
  • Adjusted volume of speech lines played when Seer is selected

Other solutions

  • Fixed an issue caused by Climatizer FX (“No existing effect for handle” error)
  • Fixed an issue with challenges (“Array index – 1 is out of range”)
  • Fixed most cases of Legends “with a grenade” when they don’t have one in their inventory (Wattson still suffers from this on rare occasions)
  • Fixed a bug with using multiple grenades on explosive holds (another update later today causes explosive holds to be closed again)

August 23 patch continued:

  • Prowler Temporarily Disabled in Arenas Due to Crash Issues
  • Fixed a bug that prevented some stats from being properly tracked. Missing stats cannot be recovered, but should be properly tracked in the future.

August 30 Patch:

  • Fixed fixed players who could jump sometimes
  • Steam “No Price Found” issue fixed with Bangalore Edition
  • Various stability solutions
