Strong winds and rain pattered down on Starkville, Mississippi, as tropical-depression Ida rolled into the state, according to images posted Aug. 30. After the then-Hurricane flooded and damaged New Orleans and other parts of Louisiana, the storm, which weakened into a tropical depression, brought flooding to Mississippi. According to the National Hurricane Center, Ida was carrying winds of up to 145 mph when it made landfall on Sunday, and was expected to bring dangerous weather to Tennessee later in the week. Mississippi State University student Dylan Hudler posted this footage of the Starkville scene. Two deaths were reported during the storm, but officials expected the number to rise.
