Andrew Constance is set to resign from NSW Parliament for federal tilt

NSW Transport Secretary Andrew Constance will resign from state politics and run for pre-selection for Gilmore’s federal seat.

The veteran Bega MP had considered replacing Gladys Berejiklian after she resigned as prime minister of NSW on Friday, but will instead seek to transition into federal politics ahead of the 2022 election.

Mr Constance, who entered the NSW Parliament in 2003, will address the media on Sunday afternoon.

Treasurer Dominic Perrottet remains a favorite to become Prime Minister of NSW, despite Planning Secretary Rob Stokes formally running for the job on Saturday.
