“I have no worries”

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has backed Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel despite a minor form flaw towards the end of September.

Speaking to BT Sport (via the Sun), Ferdinand expressed some concerns about Chelsea’s form following recent successive defeats. The Blues were beaten by Manchester City in the league and then by Juventus in the Champions League. Ferdinand said:

“This is the riddle that Tuchel has to solve. He’s had a good time. He hasn’t been in a position where people question his team. His leaders didn’t have the spark (at Juve).”

However, Ferdinand still believes Thomas Tuchel is the right manager to help Chelsea move forward after their Champions League win last season. He is also sure that the German tactician must have all the time in the world. Ferdinand added:

“I’m not worried about Thomas Tuchel. I think he’s fantastic and he deserves all the time he has done with a Champions League winning team.”

Chelsea got off to a good start to the new season in Thomas Tuchel’s first full season. However, recent defeats by Manchester City and Juventus have changed the mood a bit at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are expected to challenge players like Manchester City and Manchester United for the Premier League title this season.

Chelsea will try to come back against Southampton

After back-to-back 1-0 defeats to Manchester City and Juventus, Chelsea are hoping to return to winning ways when they take Southampton into the Premier League.

The Saints posted positive results against both Manchester clubs this season. Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side held champions Manchester City to a 0-0 draw at the Etihad Stadium last month. Despite these results, Southampton are currently in 16th place with just 4 points from their first 6 games.

Chelsea expect to secure three points against Southampton. The return of Mason Mount will be a big boost for Thomas Tuchel. The Chelsea manager has confirmed that Mount will return to take on Southampton. tuchel said:

“Mason is in the squad, Mason is back. It wasn’t a long injury and we’re glad he’s back. It’s clear he’s been nominated for the England squad and will give it his all.”

Chelsea are currently tied for second in the Premier League with 13 points. The Blues are one point behind league leaders Liverpool.
