Michael Venom Page outlasts Douglas Lima for split-decision win

Michael Venom Page wins his rematch with Douglas Lima at Bellator 267, the No. 1 welterweight contender, and took the split-decision win in the main event.

It wasn’t always easy, but Michael Venom Page outlasted Douglas Lima en route to a split-decision win at Bellator 267 (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) to take revenge.

It took a while for both fighters to get going during the fight, as they were both tired from their previous fight in the Bellator cage. Page found his reach early on and was able to dodge some of Lima’s low calf kicks and counter with hard combinations on the feet.

In rounds 2 and 3, Lima started working on some takedowns but failed to deliver much output against Page in the grappling. Page was able to work off his back pretty well and get back up, landing some twisting back kicks that stunned Lima.

On the third and final lap, Page had his way early on by landing some hard right hooks that caused Lima to wobble a bit. But in the closing minutes, Lima answered with another takedown, but didn’t take much offense from topmount.

After three rounds of back-and-forth, Page was able to escape with the controversial split-decision win with the MMA community debating the outcome.

Michael Venom Page has geared up for a fight with Bellator welterweight champion Yaroslav Amosov next

Lima was battling to get back in the victory column after losing to Gegard Mousasi in the Bellator Middleweight World Grand Prix, followed by a defeat to Yaroslav Amosov in his final defense of the welterweight title. Lima is widely regarded as one of the biggest names in Bellator.

Page entered Bellator 267 seeking revenge against Lima in front of the hometown public in London, UK. Page fell to Lima at Bellator 221 by a vicious knockout preceded by a series of nasty low calf kicks.

With the win over Bellator 267, Page aims to further prove why he is one of the best welterweights in the world and will almost certainly get the next title shot.

Bellator 267 will take place on Friday, October 1, live from the SSE Arena in Wembley, UK. Follow along with FanSided MMA for all your news and highlights.
