Zamalek’s player Ahmed Hossam Mido revealed the details of the exclusion of the duo, Mohamed Magdy Afsha and Mohamed Sharif, from the Egyptian national team’s list.
Mido wrote on his Twitter account: “My information is that the man gave a video lecture after the game until 6am. He sat explaining the mistakes of the players and criticized his jump and Sharif Jammed for their performance and told them, “level doesn’t qualify you to play in the national team.”
The coaching staff of the Egyptian national team, led by Kalos Queiroz, has excluded 11 players from the current camp, namely Muhammad Magdy Afsha, Muhammad Sharif, Muhannad Lashin, Ahmed Samir, Ahmed Tawfiq, Ali Gabr, Mustafa Fathi and Muhammad Hamdi, along with the three professionals, Karim Hafez, Wissam Morsi and Ahmed Yasser Al Rayyan.
The coaching staff of the first national football team, led by the Portuguese Carlos Queiroz, released the final list of the pharaohs who will play Libya’s two matches in the World Cup qualifiers.
The list includes 24 players:
Goalkeepers: Mohamed El-Shennawy, Mohamed Abu Jabal, Mohamed Bassam and Mohamed Sobhi.
Defences: Akram Tawfiq, Ahmed Fathi, Ahmed Hegazy and Baher Al-Mohammadi, Mahmoud Hamdi “Al Wensh”, Yasser Ibrahim, Ahmed Abu Al-Fateh and Ayman Ashraf.
The middle: Mohamed Elneny and Amr Al-Sulayya, Tarek Hamed and Hamdi Fathi.
Attacking Midfielder: Ahmed Sayed “Zizou”, Mohamed Salah, Abdullah Al-Saeed, Ibrahim Adel, Ramadan Sobhi and Omar Marmoush.
Attack: Ahmed Hassan “Koka” and Mustafa Mohamed.
The team is preparing to meet Libya back and forth on October 8 and 11 in Alexandria and Benghazi respectively, in the third and fourth rounds of Group F competitions for Africa’s 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Libya tops Group F of World Cup qualifiers with 6 points, while the Egyptian team has 4 points in second place and Gabon is in third place with one point, and Togo is bottom of the group with no balance of points.
