Be careful if you are in the Pays de la Loire this weekend. Météo France has placed the five departments of the region on orange vigilance “rainflood”, Saturday, October 2. These are Loire Atlantique, Maine-et-Loire, Mayenne, Sarthe and Vendée.

The rains start in the afternoon and increase over the hours, especially from the evening. A water layer of 40 to 60 mm is expected over a large area with even locally up to 80 mm, warns Météo France.

In the afternoon, from Brittany and the Hauts de France to the Paris region, the Pays de Loire and to Poitou-Charentes, the weather will be very disturbed and will last until the evening, with persistent rain and a strong southerly wind.
