Climate 200, the impartial group trying to elect independent MPs to break the policy deadlock over climate change, has appointed former independent MPs Tony Windsor and Rob Oakeshott to its advisory board.

Windsor and Oakeshott together have 39 years of parliamentary experience and made up the famous two-thirds of the “Three Amigos” crossbench during Labour’s minority rule under Julia Gillard from 2010 to 2013.

Founded in part in 2019 by environmentalist Simon Holmes à Court, Climate 200 will provide financial assistance and advice to community groups seeking to lead independent candidates to crucial fringe seats in the next election.
