Alyssa Milano’s uncle Mitchell Karp now needs open heart surgery car accident in august, The actress confirmed.
“He’s out of the hospital, he’s at home,” the 48-year-old Shared with Entertainment Tonight At Variety’s Power of Women event on Thursday, he added, “He cares and they’re trying to build his strength for open heart surgery. And that’s kind of where we’re at right now.”
Milano said Uncle Mitch attended a baseball game for her son earlier that week, which was “really cool.”
This is a huge improvement from the days after the collapse that Milano’s uncle was on life support.
When asked about her condition in the aftermath of the frightening incident, Milano said she “has been really good throughout this whole thing.”
Whereas if you had told me years ago, ‘You’d get in a really bad accident. You’re going to have to save that person’s life and it’s going to be really scary, ‘I was going to tell you, I don’t know if I could get past that,'” she explained, ‘It’s true what they say about having this superpower when it comes in, and when you need it.’
The accident occurred on August 16 after Milan’s uncle had a heart attack while driving a Ford SUV on a Los Angeles highway. Although the actress was a passenger in the car, she was unharmed.
Uncle Mitch lost consciousness and helped two good Samaritans stop the car, according to Milano, who also had to perform CPR at the scene.
