CHICAGO (CBS) – A man was charged with felony aggravated unlawful restraint, felony aggravated home battery and felony aggravated arson after an hour-long SWAT standoff in Grand Crossing Wednesday, police said.
The standoff occurred in the 1400 block of East 79th Street. Donald Williams, 38, was identified as the perpetrator who stabbed and injured an 11-year-old girl and a 31-year-old woman who were held against their will. He then set fire to an apartment building before being taken into custody, authorities said.
Williams will appear in court for a hearing on October 3. Police had no additional information on Sunday morning.
