Cyclone Shaheen: UAE Weather Agency issues code red alert for east coast – News

Residents will have to be “extremely vigilant” as “dangerous weather conditions of exceptional severity are predicted”.

Code red has been issued for the east coast of the UAE. This happened when Cyclone Shaheen hit the region on Sunday.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) warned on Twitter that the Oman Sea would be very rough. Wave heights are expected to reach 10 feet offshore. Strong winds are also expected, with speeds of up to 50 km/h.

The NCM’s code red warning means residents in a particular area should be “extremely vigilant” as “dangerous weather conditions of exceptional severity are predicted”.

The alarm, which was issued at 5:25 p.m. on Sunday, will remain in effect until Monday evening.
