We may be only four weeks into the 2021 NFL season, but it’s hard to imagine seeing a fumble uglier than the Detroit Lions’ game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
The Lions were deep in the red zone when they had an embarrassing accident. Jared Goff walked to the line of scrimmage to change a play, but center Frank Ragnow couldn’t hear him because of the crowd noise. Ragnow broke the ball when Goff wasn’t ready, and what happened next might have been a first.
Somehow Goff’s ball was deflected, went over the line of scrimmage and landed right into the arms of Bears defending lineman Bilal Nichols.
