Former WWE champion Jinder Mahal was in an exclusive interview with Gary Cassidy of Inside the Ropes.
The Modern Day Maharaja had a message for fans who claimed that WWE has not created any new stars. Jinder has detailed how WWE has created new stars in each generation.
Mahal pointed out that first-time champions, including himself, Drew McIntyre, Big E, and Kofi added Kingston to the WWE championship line, countering the argument that WWE doesn’t create new stars. Jinder Mahal stated that WWE has created more than 10 new champions in the past 10 years.
Here’s what Jinder had to say:
“Yes, they absolutely do. That’s what we’re working on, right? Just a fan myself. So I grew up in the Hulk Hogan era first. Then came Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker and Mankind, right? And the new stars came from the next generation – Rock, Stone Cold and the next generation after that, Randy Orton and John Cena, Batista, right? And then the next generation, I guess, might be my generation, right? Me, Drew McIntyre, Big E, Bobby Lashley, Kofi Kingston, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins,” said Jinder Mahal.
What brand will Jinder Mahal be produced to?
WWE closed Night One of the WWE Draft on SmackDown this week. Some of the top WWE stars, such as Roman Reigns, Charlotte Flair, Bianca Belair and Edge, were drafted into SmackDown and RAW.
However, it was not announced that Jinder Mahal was part of the blue or red brand overnight. Mahal has some history with both brands. He became a WWE Champion while on SmackDown in 2017. However, since his return, the modern day Maharaja has bonded with Veer and Shanky on the red mark and proved to be a powerful threat to his competitors. It’ll be interesting to see what show Jinder and his collaborators pick up when WWE RAW rolls to Nashville this Monday night.
