Mitchell Starc’s Gesture For Australian Women’s Test During Series Against India

Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has stolen the hearts of cricket fans with a stylish gesture for the Australian women’s cricket team.

The Australian team is currently in the midst of a multi-format series against India on the Gold Coast.

Starc, the husband of wicketkeeper Alyssa Healy, has been sidelined for much of the series and has often been seen bordering the squad.

After the Australians struggled on Thursday’s opening day of the Test, it was revealed that Starc had bought new spikes for all the bowlers, all of whom appeared to be wearing shoes that did not suit the conditions.

“It was actually the first day of match when Stella Campbell was bowling,” former Australian captain Lisa Sthalekar told Fox Cricket.

“She had to put a little sawdust on (the crease). The bowlers came out and Starc said, ‘Do you have your long spikes?’

“The girls said, ‘We just have our normal spikes.’

“So what he did was he went out and bought all the bowlers long spikes so they have another set just in case, depending on the circumstances.”

Campbell revealed that she used her new set of spikes immediately after Starc bought them.

“I slipped my front foot on the first day, so Mitch Starc asked if we had long spikes,” she said.

“I’ve never worn one and none of us had one. So he went out and bought us all of them.

“I used them for the first time today.”
