A million reasons to get your Covid shot now: Huge cash prize to be earned by any adult Australian who gets vaccinated by the end of this month
- One lucky Australian will win a million dollars by upping his sleeve for a Covid hit
- $1 million Vax initiative launched to boost Australia’s national vaccination rates
- About 79 per cent of Australians received a first blow and 55 per cent had both
One lucky Australian will win $1 million to get vaccinated by the end of the month with other big cash prizes on offer.
Funded by 20 philanthropists and companies, the “Million Dollar Vax” program was launched to boost national immunization rates.
Every Australian over the age of 18 will have a chance to win the life-changing prize, as those who have already been vaccinated remain eligible to win.
Vaccinated residents can also enter the race to win 100 $1,000 gift cards distributed each day in October.

Craig Winkler, president of the Million Dollar Vax Alliance, said the purpose of the campaign was not to persuade people to appeal but to reward those who do.
“The promotion is simply meant to reward people who have decided to get vaccinated now rather than wait…and help people who were thinking about getting vaccinated but haven’t crossed that line yet,” he said.
Australia will soon receive enough vaccines to vaccinate the entire population, with nine million doses of Pfizer and three million doses of Moderna hitting our shores in October.
Charity Australia CEO Jack Heath said the campaign was modeled after Ohio’s “Vax-A-Million” campaign in the United States that awarded five vaccinated residents a $1 million prize.

Donors to the Million Dollar Vax Program include the Susan McKinnon Foundation, the Jasper Foundation, and the P&S Bassat Foundation.
Those who have already been vaccinated can still enter to win, provided they receive both vaccinations six weeks before October 31.
Eligible residents can enter the draw on the Million Dollar Vax website with the final Million Dollar Prize Draw on November 5th.
As of Saturday, 79 per cent of eligible Australians aged over 16 had received their first dose of the Covid vaccine and 55 per cent had received two doses.
