TNT holds onto San Miguel Beer for 1-0 PBA lead in semi-finals

MANILA, Philippines – TNT held out, denying San Miguel, 89-88, in Game 1 of the best-of-7 semifinals in the PBA Philippine Cup Sunday 2021 at DHVSU Gym in Bacolor, Pampanga.

Roger Pogoy gave the Tropang Giga an 89-84 lead with 1:34 left in a tough layup against Chris Ross’s defense and held that lead until the final buzzer when the Beermen failed in their last game of the match.

San Miguel managed to climb back up and get inside one, 89-88, while CJ Perez converted on two late layups.

Marcio Lassiter tried to win the game for the Beermen with 9.6 seconds left, but Poy Erram thwarted his lay-up attempt to keep TNT’s win.
