Erling Haaland was unimpressed to find that his FIFA 22 rating was lower than rival Kylian Mbappe.
The two forwards are seen as the successors to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who together have dominated European football for more than a decade.
Borussia Dortmund striker Haaland is in excellent form this season with 11 goals in eight games and his rating has been raised from 84 to 88 for the latest edition of FIFA.
Mbappe, on the other hand, is behind with four goals in 11 appearances for the campaign, but has a rating of 91, one higher than his FIFA 21 score.
Haaland was told this by Dortmund team-mate and England midfielder Jude Bellingham, who first showed the Norwegian his 88-rated card and asked him if he was happy.
“Not bad,” Haaland replied, but the smile was quickly wiped from his face when Bellingham noted that Mbappe and Bayern Munich frontman Robert Lewandowski have a score of 91.
The 18-year-old asked Haaland if he was still happy with his rating and got a blunt reply of “no comment”.
The 21-year-old looked keen to leave after discovering he is rated lower than Mbappe and Lewandowski, but Bellingham lured him back by suggesting his pace should be faster.
Haaland agreed, saying: “For me pace and physical should be in the 90s I think. In-forms are coming out today…don’t you think I deserve it?”
“I really think you deserve it, my friend,” Bellingham replied, while also claiming his teammate’s dribbling should have a higher grade.

While Haaland clearly believes he should be judged closer to Mbappe, the Paris Saint-Germain attacker seemed to suggest in August that his rival is not at his level.
“It’s his second year, we’re getting to know him. It’s the beginning for him. I’m happy for him, for what he does,” Mbappe said. Esquire .
While Haaland has started the current season in better shape, Mbappe’s extra year and a half with the Dortmund star have given him more time to build a brilliant resume.
The 22-year-old was an integral part of the French team that won the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Mbappe also won nine major accolades at club level and helped PSG reach the Champions League final last year, where they were beaten by Bayern Munich.
Haaland has scored 30 times less than Mbappe, but has significantly fewer appearances to his name. His trophy cabinet includes three awards from his time at Red Bull Salzburg and a DFB-Pokal winners’ medal from last season.
