After being ruled out of IPL and T20 World Cup due to a low back injury, Sam Curran is confident he will come back stronger. Curran complained of back pain after the Chennai Super Kings game against the Rajasthan Royals on Saturday and was immediately taken for scans, which revealed the injury.

Sam Curran, who is currently playing for Chennai Super Kings in IPL, has been ruled out of the rest of the IPL and the upcoming T20 World Cup with a low back injury. Curran complained of back pain after their game against the Rajasthan Royals on Saturday, and was immediately taken in for scans, which revealed an injury. The English all-rounder flies back to England for further medical treatment.

The all-rounder is confident he will be back stronger soon and thanked the Chennai Super Kings franchise and fans for their support over the past two seasons. The 23-year-old further expressed disappointment at missing out on the rest of the IPL and the T20 World Cup, which starts on October 17.

“Unfortunately I have received the terrible news that I will unfortunately miss the rest of the IPL season and the World Cup. Extremely gutted…I have absolutely loved my time at Chennai this season,” said Sam Curran in a video on CSK Twitter. handle.

“It hasn’t really sunk in yet, but I’m leaving the team in a fantastic space. The boys are playing really good cricket. I want to support them from where I am in the coming days.

“Once it all sinks in, I will definitely support the team and I’m sure they can do everything they can to get the trophy.”

“I want to say a huge thank you to all Chennai Super Kings fans, I have absolutely loved all your support in the last two seasons I have played. It won’t be long before I can run, bowl and bat again for all of you.

“I’ll come back stronger, until then stay safe. Cheers guys,” added the all-rounder.

Chennai Super Kings have already qualified for the play-offs in IPL 2021 and are currently in second place on the points list. Speaking about Sam Curran’s injury, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said it would be a shame to miss England’s all-rounder ahead of the tournament’s business end.

“It is very unfortunate that Curran will not be available for the rest of the season due to a low back injury. We wish him a speedy recovery and I am sure he will come out of this stronger. BCCI has been informed about the injury.”

Sam’s brother, Tom Curran, has been included in England’s T20 World Cup roster as a replacement.
