Phoebe Burgess has seemingly snapped back at ex-husband Sam’s shocking confession about their relationship on SAS Australia.
After Sam admitted that he and Phoebe were never right for each other, but he “forced things” to work because he was desperate for kids, the young influencer quickly took to Instagram with a comeback.
“We’re coming in a pack of 3,” Phoebe wrote, alongside a series of photos of her with the kids she and Sam share.

The former WAG continued: ‘I can’t really remember the last time I was alone – longer than a bathroom break so… and even then it’s a total mission to sneak out’.
“We wake up together, we go to sleep together and everything in between.”

The pointed post came very shortly after her NRL star ex told castmate Jana Pittman on SAS Australia that his mother Julie believed her son’s relationship was doomed from the start.

Ex-Occupation: Sam admitted on reality TV show that the couple ‘just weren’t meant for each other’ and says he ‘forced things’ because he desperately wanted a family
Sam admitted on the reality TV show that the couple “just weren’t meant for each other” and says he “forced things” because he really wanted a family.
The 32-year-old and Phoebe were married for four years before splitting in 2019.
After Jana asks how they met, Sam replies, “At a concert, and I never go to concerts. We just weren’t meant for each other.”

Relationship: Retired South Sydney Rabbitohs player, 32, talks about his four-year marriage to Phoebe (pictured together in happier times), which ended for good in October 2019.
Sam said that despite his concerns, he continued the relationship with Phoebe, 32, because he wanted to live the dream life.
“I tried to force things — I wanted a family, I wanted kids, I wanted the dream, the house… I got it, had it all,” he says in the shock episode.
“There were some things that I knew weren’t quite right, but I thought I could change that and help, fix that… I couldn’t.”
Sam then recalls calling his mother Julie two years after the couple’s wedding and asking her bluntly, “Is this right?”
Bombshell claims, “There were a few things I knew weren’t quite right, but I thought I could change that and help, fix that — I couldn’t,” he says.
“She was like, ‘Sam, you’re just never going to make her happy. I don’t know how you did it for two years,” he explains to Jana.
‘I said, ‘I have my children, what should I do?’ – I didn’t know what to do.’
Sam then speaks to the camera and says, “Over the past 18 months, I’ve had a pretty tough personal life. My marriage broke down – we just didn’t work as a couple.

Mom knows best: Sam said he called his mom Julie (pictured, together) two years after their wedding and asked her, “Is this right?” to which she replied, ‘You’re just never going to make her happy. I don’t know how you did it for two years’
“Most people will understand that relationships can be quite complicated. It’s best that we don’t have a relationship together. It’s sad and disturbing, but it’s also just life.’
Sam confessed in previous episodes that he had been unfaithful to Phoebe during their marriage while being questioned by the show’s directing staff.
“I don’t think I was the best husband sometimes,” he said. “I embarrassed my wife. I had an affair with a girl, a woman in Melbourne. That’s true.
“I was on tour and unfortunately that happened, which would have been… it would have been a tough place for Phoebe to be.”
Sam was embroiled in a sexting scandal in September 2018 involving a Melbourne woman who claimed he cheated on his wife the year before.
Revelation: Earlier in the season, Sam confessed to being unfaithful to Phoebe during their marriage while being questioned by the show’s directing staff
In the immediate aftermath of the scandal in Phoebe, who was then pregnant with her second child, withdrew from a public appearance but continued to support her husband publicly.
However, the marriage ended shortly after Christmas of the same year, three months after he was cleared of any involvement in an NRL ‘sexting’ affair.
Despite a brief reconciliation in early 2019, the couple broke up for good in October of the same year.
The news of the divorce came just days after Sam announced his immediate retirement from sports on October 30, 2019, due to a shoulder injury.

Sam said he “couldn’t accept” hearing his surgeon’s decision to retire, so he tried to go back and play.
“It was a bit of a knife to the heart,” he explained during the show’s launch episode. ‘I couldn’t accept it. I knew I couldn’t do my job in two games, so I stopped. It was c*t.’
Chief Instructor Ant Middleton then asked if Sam had gone on a ‘path of destruction’ after his marriage and the end of his career, to which he replied, ‘I didn’t know how to go about it.
‘I’m not very good at managing emotions. Anything to do with my team, myself, the press, I don’t mind.
“When things got emotional with the loss of my kids, not seeing my kids every day, the breakdown of my marriage and that put pressure on my ex-wife… I didn’t like that.
Another loss: The divorce came two days after Sam announced his retirement from all sports leagues with immediate effect on October 30 due to a shoulder injury.
“I hated that I hurt other people I couldn’t handle.”
He continued: ‘I started drinking and taking drugs – I thought I could handle that. When was pulled [up on a] DUI with drugs in my system, which again was all over the press, preventing me from seeing my kids. I just signed up for rehab.’
In May of this year, Sam avoided conviction despite pleading guilty to three driver’s licenses after a February 22 traffic stop where he tested positive for cocaine.
It came two months after Sam’s conviction for intimidating his ex-wife Phoebe’s father Mitchell Hooke in the wake of the couple’s messy breakup was overturned by a judge.
Sam later said that visiting a four-week rehabilitation center “saved his life” and revealed that he had completely stopped drinking in an effort to change his path for the better.
After the interrogation, Sam concluded by saying he hoped his time on SAS Australia would help him “look a little deeper into myself.”
“I have this theory of life that it’s peaks and valleys, ups and downs. Sometimes you don’t know when the peaks are at the top and you don’t know how far the valley can go.
“Maybe this could be the start of my climb out of the valley.”
SAS Australia continues on Channel Seven on Monday at 7.30pm
