ZACH WILSON MAY BE THE BEST JETS QB SINCE JOE NAMATH
COLORS KEY | FULL JETS OUTLOOK
Recent history has not been kind to the New York Jets at Quarterback. Geno Smith, Mark Sanchez and Sam Darnold are some of the last few starting QBs for the team, the latter finding new success in Carolina. If Zach Wilson plays the way he did in Week 4, where he relieved a Tennessee Titans secondary, he could easily become the best quarterback the Jets have had since Joe Namath.
The rookie QB has plenty of talent after being second-choice in the 2021 NFL draft. Plus the bar of being the best Jets QB since Broadway Joe isn’t set very high as Chad Pennington is currently considered such and never more than 3,400 PASS YDS has recorded during a single season with NYJ. Wilson has the rare ability to improvise on the fly, which led to the magical plays that led to his first win of his career. Hopefully the rookie QB doesn’t end up like past Jets QBs and confirm his own legacy in the NFL.
