The Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the disappearance of 19-year-old Mia Marcano, one of the bodies found in Orlando. A Valencia College student went missing on September 24, prompting a statewide search for a joint agency.
Orange County police said emergency respondersAround 10:45 a.m. Saturday with Marco’s identity and purse. The remains were in a forested area around the Timber Scan condominiums, an apartment complex in which Armando Caballero lived.
Caballero remains the only person interested in the case. Police said the 27-year-old maintenance worker was working at Arden Villas, where Marcano lived and worked. Marco was expected to visit the family in Fort Lauderdale when she learned of her disappearance. Police said Caballero used the key to enter her apartment around 4:30 p.m., but she disappeared.
On September 2, Caballero was found dead in an apparent suicide. Orange County Sheriff John Mina said cell phone records on Saturday showed Marcono had been missing from the Caballerola Timber Scan apartment for 20 minutes at night and there was no evidence that he had returned before committing suicide.
“We’re not looking for any other people,” Mina said Said. “We believe that Armando Caballero is responsible for this crime and there are no other individuals or persons we are looking for in this case.”
Authorities are still waiting for the medical examiner’s office to determine the cause of death.
