According to the first information from police, four young men were attacked by more than ten people in front of a bar in Mariendorfer Damm in Berlin-Mariendorf around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
According to the police, they were extremely brutal: with blows, kicks, irritating gas and a stun gun! They were also said to be carrying baseball bats and a firearm.
Pursued by the attackers, the four 15- to 18-year-olds fled to a car parked nearby and then drove off at high speed on Markgrafenstrasse in the direction of Mariendorfer Damm.
There was then a collision with a Skoda in the opposite lane while it was still in Markgrafenstrasse. The driver (52) suffered minor forehead injuries. The getaway car then collided with a BMW parked on the right side of the roadway. The four refugees suffered minor injuries.
Police officers searched the restaurant looking for the attackers. Nearly 30 people were checked in the bar, four men (17 to 21) could be identified as suspects in the attack. They were identified in police custody and subsequently released.
In the restaurant, police found and confiscated a prohibited knife and an average four-digit amount of banknotes in a trash can. The restaurant was then closed due to construction and hygiene legislation.
The driver’s license was also seized (18). According to the police, the origin of the attack is “still completely unclear”.
