‘Big Bang Theory’ Reunion: Simon Helberg as Howard on ‘Young Sheldon’

Dr. Cooper and Sir. Wolowitz reunites it Young Sheldon.

CBS announced on Thursday that Simon Helberg will repeat his The Big Bang Theory role (in a voiceover capacity) as Howard Wolowitz. He will be heard throughout the episode on November 18 as he helps (and quarrels with) Jim Parsons ‘Sheldon, which reveals the origins of Sheldon’s complicated relationship with engineering – a story that the series’ co-creator Steve Molaro first teased as part of TVLine’s Autumn premiere in September.

The same episode will introduce Fringes veterinarian Lance Reddick as Sheldon’s first engineering instructor, Professor Boucher, and shows Reba McEntire’s return as Dale’s ex-wife June. Both Helberg and Reddick appear in a sneak peek above.

“We love being able to explore the origins of Sheldon Cooper every week Young Sheldon“, Molaro said in a statement.” But it’s always extra fun when we’re able to incorporate The Big Bang Theory Easter eggs into the story.

“Getting to work with Simon again to help explain Sheldon’s long hatred of engineering was a dream come true,” he continued. “Jim and Simon – even in voiceover at Zoom – did not miss a beat in their teasing like Sheldon Cooper and Howard Wolowitz. Plus, this episode sees Reba McEntire’s return and introduces Lance Reddick as Sheldon’s first engineering professor – it’s definitely one of our best episodes. ”

Helberg is the third The Big Bang Theory alum to join Parsons on Young Sheldon. During Season 3, Kaley Cuoco (aka Penny) made an uncredited voiceover in one of Sheldon’s nightmares. So in the season 4 premiere, Mayim Bialik returned to vote for Amy – and to help Sheldon reveal that their first child would be named Leonard.

A younger version of Howard (played by Ethan Stern) appeared earlier during Young Sheldon‘s season 2 finale (along with other pint sizes Big bang characters), which was sent the same night as BBTseries finale in May 2019.
