There is a full-fledged press on for Drake and Kanye West to conclude peace, and a key player in the negotiations is to awaken fans’ hopes with an interesting picture … but TMZ has learned that this is not exactly what it looks like.
As you know, Ye made a video call this week – with Rap-A-Lot Records founder J. Prins by his side – for Drake to join him on stage for a concert to support liberation Larry Hoover. Drake has not yet answered, but Wednesday night Larry Hoover Jr. posted pictures of himself meeting with Drizzy and J. Prince.
You understand why people would think that Drake is moving closer to accepting Provider’s offer – and he may be – but the pictures are not proof of that. That’s because LH Jr.’s camp tells TMZ that they were taken a few months ago.
During the meeting, we are told that they talked to Drake about supporting the movement to get Larry Hoover released from prison … but that was long before Ye extended his offer of unity.
ICYMI, Yes plan is for Drizzy and himself to crush their longtime feud and meet on stage in LA for a Benefit concert on December 7 in Hoover’s honor.
If you’re not familiar … Hoover is the former leader of a large gang in Chicago, the Gangster Disciples, who was convicted of murder back in the ’70s and sentenced to 6 life sentences. Many feel he has made more than enough time for his crime and has lobbied for his release.
Hoover Jr. doubled on Yes video while talking to TMZ this week … begging Drake to do the concert.
Like we said, it’s a full court press to get him on board – but so far, Drake has at least been silent on the case. Of course, he is most likely still suffocating the events of Astroworld, where he performed with Travis Scott – and he has been named as defendant in at least one of the lawsuits filed after the 8 deaths and hundreds of injuries.
