A man has been arrested after a young girl was tragically killed after allegedly being hit by a car as she was crossing a zebra crossing in Birmingham.
The young man was taken to hospital but sadly died of his injuries after the incident on Rescue Lane, Tyseley.
It is understood that the girl was using a cruise when she was hit by a silver Ford Galaxy just before 2.40pm on Thursday (November 11).

The driver of the car has reportedly failed to stop at the intersection, police said.
A man, 24, was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after his vehicle was found nearby.
The girl’s family was with her at the time of the tragedy.
Inspector Paul Hughes, of the West Midlands Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “The tragic death of such a young child is deeply saddening. Our thoughts go out to the girl’s family in this incredibly sad time.
“Our priority is to support her family and ensure that a thorough investigation is carried out.
“We understand the shock and concern this may have caused society, and ask people not to speculate on the circumstances.
“I’m eager to hear from anyone who was on Rescue Lane or in the immediate vicinity and may have witnessed the collision or heard anything that may help our investigation.”
Police have asked anyone with information to get in touch by calling police on 101 indicating log number 2641 of 11 November.
