Police have launched a search for a woman who disappeared in Bristol nine years ago.
Claire Holland was last seen at Seamus O’Donnell’s pub on St Nicholas Street on the evening of June 6, 2012 – the day after Queen’s Diamond Jubilee weekend.
Her family reported her missing eight days later.
Police believe the 32-year-old from Lawrence Weston was the victim of a crime.
A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder in 2019 and is still under investigation.
Several “intelligence-led” targeted searches take place in and around Bristol area over the next few days, Avon and Somerset Police said.
Footage has been released by Mrs Holland on the day she disappeared as part of a renewed appeal for information.
“CCTV shows Claire walking along Baldwin Street on her way to Seamus O’Donnell’s pub around 9.30pm BST on Wednesday, June 6, but we have no footage showing where she went afterwards,” said senior investigating officer, Detective Darren Hannant.
Staff at the pub told police she left the establishment that evening around 6 p.m. 23.15, just after closing time.
She could have walked in the direction of Fountains, near Harborside – but police said they have reviewed more than 1,000 hours of CCTV footage and have not been able to spot her.
The search, some of which will involve a specialized diving team, will start in parts of the city center and move to other areas during the week.
“Claire had no known reason to disappear by herself and had made plans for the week after her disappearance,” Insp Hannant said.
He said her family is being kept up to date on the progress of the investigation, adding: “We are committed to giving them the answers they need.”
Mrs. Holland is described as white, 5 feet tall, with a slender build and shoulder-length brown hair, which was sometimes tied back in a ponytail.
Police use social media to contact all those who were Facebook friends with Mrs Holland in 2012.
They will also talk to everyone who was at the pub the night she disappeared.
Anyone who knew Mrs Holland, thinks they may have seen her on June 6 or has relevant information has been urged to contact police.
