The Downtown DC Business Improvement District’s annual Downtown Holiday Market begins Nov. 19 and runs for five weeks through Dec. 23.

The Penn Quarter open-air market stretches two blocks on F Street Northwest – from Seventh to Ninth Street – and offers vendors and artisans selling their handicrafts, as well as food, drinks, live music and other entertainment.

This is the 17th year of Downtown Holiday Market, which focuses on empowering small and minority-owned businesses and local retailers with more than 70 businesses from across the DC region.

Last year, more than 50,000 people attended the Downtown Holiday Market.

“This year, we have a huge shopping benefit for those who may be waiting for their gifts by mail,” said Michael Berman, president of Diverse Markets Management, which organizes the holiday market. “Our personal shopping experience is more than just a select selection of gifts. We have a little of everything that everyone can enjoy. ”

Live performances are planned on the main stage throughout the holiday market. For food lovers, the options include empanadas, barbecue, donuts, sweets and “Taste of Germany”.

Downtown BID has also partnered with nearby Hotel Monaco DC for a package that includes lodging and a $ 30 dining credit.

The holiday market is open from 12:00 to 20:00 daily with the exception of Thanksgiving Day and 6 December. There is free admission.
